The Museum is in Skinningrove, which is just off the A174 between Saltburn and Whitby.

From the North: Take the A174 towards Loftus through Carlin How. At the bottom of Loftus Bank turn left into Skinningrove.

From the South: Take the A174 to Loftus, continue down Loftus Bank and turn right into Skinningrove.
Turn right immediately after travelling over the first small steel bridge over Kilton Beck, and you will find us! We have a free car park for visitors’ use. Disabled parking straight ahead up the bank.

Saltburn 4 miles
Middlesbrough 15 miles
Whitby 15 miles
Stokesley 17 miles

Please note that if you are using a sat nav that some have been known to be unreliable when directing visitors to the museum.

Trains:

The nearest station to the Museum is in Saltburn. Buses run hourly from the Railway Station to Skinningrove.

Buses:

ARRIVA bus network runs in the area.

The X4 runs half hourly from Saltburn very close to the train station and stops in Skinninggrove. It runs from as early as 07.30 from Saltburn and as late as 18.29 from Skinningrove return journey.

Departing from the X4 arriving in Skinningrove Square simply follow the road taken into Skinningrove and take a left just before the small bridge to the museum.

On Foot:

The Cleveland Way runs along the coast at Skinningrove, and visitors can reach Skinningrove on foot from Saltburn or Staithes along the spectacular cliff-side path.
