We cater for all visitors regardless of disability or special needs and we do our best to ensure that their experience is as enjoyable and rewarding as possible.
The museum has a separate, signposted, disabled car park at the rear and the museum is wheelchair accessible throughout.
Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum is on the site of Loftus Mine, occupying old buildings. Unfortunately due to these constraints, we regret that the tour is unsuitable for visitors in large motorised mobility scooters. However, two hand-propelled wheel chairs are available for loan. Visitors wishing to borrow one of these are welcome to do so, however they must be accompanied by someone willing and able to push. Museum Volunteers are not able to take on this task, although they will provide assistance in difficult areas of the tour. Helpers will be admitted to the Museum free of charge.
